Starr B. Merritt is a Paralegal and entrepreneur who also performs pro bono work in connection with the Connecticut Bar Association Pro Bono Network/Connecticut Alliance of Paralegals and the Pro Bono Partnership of White Plains, NY.  Prior to becoming a paralegal she served as an administrative assistant in companies throughout Stamford and Norwalk for many years.

Gary T. Baynes is a retired Captain from the Connecticut Department of Corrections, having served with the Department for more than twenty years.  His wealth of knowledge coupled with his management and supervisory experience provide the necessary elements to support a successful non-profit.

Monique A. Christie has been employed by the Town of Greenwich for more than ten years.  Her experience has provided her a diverse range and increasing levels of responsibility in the areas of payroll processing, inventory valuation, research, reporting, and quality and money management.

Company history

The Butterfly Project Fund was established in 2008.  The organization's first year included two events;  a step show competition and a dance performance.  Performers from New York and Connecticut came out to showcase their talents.  Adults and youth from the community volunteered their services to  make each event a success.

Current Scholarships
 
Janis B. Hill W.I.S.D.O.M. Scholarship
(Women Impacting Society through Determination, Opportunity and Motivation)
This scholarship was created to provide financial assistance to women (at least 30 years of age) who wish to pursue higher education.  There is no age limit on attaining an education.
 
 
S.M.I.L.E Scholarship
(Single Mothers Improving Life through Education)
This scholarship was created to encourage single mothers (age 18 to 30) to continue with their education, thereby creating a better life for herself, her family and her community.
 
 
PUR.P.O.S.E. Scholarship
(Pursuing the Pathway of Scholastic Excellence)
This scholarship was created to recognize a high school senior for his/her desire to continue their education beyond high school.
 
 
All of the scholarships require applicants to be a Fairfield County resident
for at least one year prior to applying.  Please see application
